PTA General Assembly

Mr. Vicente Sherlock Codilla was re-elected as PTA President during the PTA General Assembly held at the Unit B building, last July 13, 2007, Friday.

The parents and teachers’ meeting started around 5:30 p.m. with a Doxology by selected high school students and was then followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. LLCI principal, Mr. Eude Carlos A. Yap, delivered his welcome address wherein he emphasized LLCI’s 25th year celebration as a school and as a corporation. Right after which was the awarding of the certificates of appreciation and the giving of tokens to deserving parents who helped the PTA in SY 2006-2007. Mr. Eude Carlos Yap and Mr. Vicente Sherlock Codilla assisted by Mr. Edmundo Quiñones took charge in the giving of certificates and tokens.

New members of the faculty namely, Mrs. Briane Velarde, Ms. Gilda Palen and Ms. Marivic Abangan, entertained the crowd with a dance number presentation. The PTA President’s report containing the carry over projects and achievements that were completed and delivered on the previous year were presented afterwards. Also presented were the achievements and support of the PTA for school year 2006-2007. Mrs. Antonia Manifer Ygnacio with her violin and Mrs. Elizabeth Tantuan on the keyboards relaxed the atmosphere in the building with their rendition of the song, “A Time for Us”.

The treasurer’s report regarding last school year’s expenses was delivered by Mr. Piñon. The election of new set of PTA officers followed. Guidelines were given by Ms. Fabiana G. Sunit and other faculty members took charge of the counting of votes. For the 4th time, Mr. Vicente Sherlock Codilla was elected as PTA president.

The giving of prizes to parents who arrived early was done simultaneously with the casting and counting of votes. Ten parents were given prizes for being the early birds.

Before the meeting was adjourned, minor and major prizes were raffled. There were sixteen winners for the minor prizes and seven lucky winners for the major prizes.

Winners for the Major prizes are as follows; Mrs. Rina Durana, 7th prize, a flat iron; Ms. Marivic Abangan, 6th prize, a water heater; Mr. Raul Bataycan, 5th prize, an oven toaster; Mrs. Deborah Bertulfo, 4th prize, a coffee maker; Mrs. Geraldine Caya, 3rd prize, a water dispenser; Mrs. Ebb Notavio, 2nd prize, an electric fan; and Mrs. Nimfa Roque, 1st prize, a washing machine.
