Lideans paid tribute to their mentors during the celebration of Teachers Day, which was held on Jan. 19, 2006 in Building B from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) President, Mr. Sherlock Codilla delivered the welcome address. He revealed the hardships that teachers undergo that being a teacher is a real job. “They even often get in trouble with parents regarding the children’s grades,” he said.
The Supreme Student Government (SSG) selected high school students to have their own definition of “TEACHERS”. Elementary students also showcased their dancing prowess.
The highlight of the program was the “Battle of the Brains”, which was participated by teachers of various subjects. The teachers were divided into eight groups. The second group which was consisted of Mr. Michael Pacayra, Mrs. Vengie Solis, and Ms. Ivy Nillas, emerged victorious.
PTA President, Mr. Sherlock Codilla spearheaded the giving of tokens. Students also handed personal tokens of gratitude to their teachers, while selected high school students rendered songs for the pedagogues like “Thanks To You”, “Because of You”, and “Bayani”.
“The teachers should be given the respect that they deserved for they are our second parents,” he stated.
